UPDATE 15|03|08 - The large hole (50' x 40' x 15ft) next to the hut is for the boarding house rain water. This will be filled with "plastic modular storage cells" This plastic boxing will form the underground Soakaway. This will then be covered and become the boarding ouse car park. The new replacement for the hut is being located is place today and will be operational by the end of next week. It is being located opposite its old location on the hard standing by reprographics. The access road that would have led to the orchard car park to the side of the school, is now strictly out of bounds to all students.

UPDATE 08|03|10 - 90% of the concrete fabrication of the new building is now complete and over the next two weeks all the supporting frameworks will be removed leaving a structural shell. The large crane on site this week by the sports centre is lifting in all the support steelwork for

the new changing rooms and fitness centre.The scaffolding around the sports centre is for the removal/ replacement of old facing panels prior to the replacement of the main sports roof during the summer. All the ceiling panels in the sports centre have been removed to allow new electrics and services to be fitted.To the rear of the Academy security fencing has now been fitted around the construction site of the boarding house.The smaller fence fitted with polythene is to catch any reptiles that may be living there.

UPDATE 08|02|10 - The concrete floor slab has now been completed for the whole of the ground floor. Reinforced concrete sheer walls and columns are complete for blocks A & B, C in progress. First floor slab for block B is complete and A is in progress. Construction of the new changing rooms and fitness suite have no started, with the demolition of the old store rooms and setting out the site.

UPDATE 01|02|10 - Construction has now begun on the fitness centre and changing rooms in the new Academy, and the theatre floor has now been laid. - Building work continues, no major milestones to report.

UPDATE 25|01|10 - Part of the first floor of the new academy will be "poured" this week...Next week the ground floor of the new theatre will be laid.

UPDATE 11|12|09 - Tower Crane stands at 37 meters high, Jib lenghth of 75 meters, can lift 12 tons at an 18m radius and 2 tons at a 75m radius.Service locations The paint markings around the existing school show the location and directions of different services and are colour coded as follows: Red - mains electricity, Blue - water. Green - Telecom/CATV, Yellow - gas, Light blue - combined sewer, Brown - foul sewer.

UPDATE 07|12|09 - Ground floor foundations of the new building are nearly complete. To the far side of the academy the support colums are going up this week and the first floor will be visible by Christmas.

UPDATE 23|11|09 - Striped lines are currently being painted around certain areas of the building - there are the tracings of the new services of the school, e.g. gas, electricity and water.On the far left hand side of the building site there is a large, flat concrete area currently being poured- this will actually be the ground floor of the academy.
