On Saturday 15th July Wellington Academy hosted ‘The Summer Festival’ in association with Ludgershall Town Council. All eyes looked to the sky in the morning as we had a few drops of rain, thankfully this was short lived and although it wasn’t blazingly hot we did have a warm dry day. Entertainment for the day consisted of ‘The Rock Choir’ who performed a variety of songs and Neil Sartin who performed some really cool reggae tunes. We had the dog show with prizes ranging from ‘Waggiest Tail’ to ‘Most Handsome Dog’. There were a variety of traditional games including a Coconut Shy and Splat the Rat. Those more adventurous could try their hand at the climbing wall or they could take on one of the members of the ‘Ludgershall Elite’. We also hosted the Tidworth Football competitions and the Fijian Volleyball Tournament. There was plenty of food on offer too and keeping everything moving along we had Castledown Radio and our very own Dukebox Radio. It was a fantastic day which everyone enjoyed. Special thanks to the organisers, Ludgershall Town Council, Castledown Radio and our sponsors the Armed Forces Covenant!
