We celebrate yet another year of some amazing results for our Y11s who collected their GCSE results this morning.
Students continue to do well in maths with almost two thirds of maths grades being an A*- C and 92% of Further maths grades being A* - C with almost 85% being an A* - B. Massive congratulations to students studying Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Textiles, Physical Education and Digital Photography with those subjects gaining between 70% to 85%, A – C pass rate, with Physics, Biology and Further maths being the top performing areas this year.
For the third consecutive year 50% of students have got the equivalent of a C or above in both maths and English (grades 4 to 9 in the new grading system). Students performed exceptionally well in subjects such as ECDL (IT) with almost 80% of all grades being the equivalent to an A* - A and 95% A* - B equivalent.
We would like to congratulate some students who secure the top scores across the board:
Rachel Edmunds who received the new top grade 9, equivalent to an A** in both English Language and Literature. She also gained four other A*, three As and one B. Shuvekchha Rai: one A**, five A*s and 6As; Millie Richards: one A**, one A*, 6 As and three Bs; Lewis Shakespeare one A**, two A*s, four As, three Bs and one C; Jade Cummins three A*s, seven As, one B and one C; Roos Schyns: two A*s, five As, two Bs and one C; Dare Olufunwa: two A*s, five As and three Bs and Ronnicia Leach: one A*, six As, two Bs and three Cs.
Alongside these successes, other students have made significant progress since their primary school scoring, in some cases, up to 2½ grades above their predicted grades. This is a huge achievement.
We would also like to congratulate some of our students who have made outstanding progress; Kamil Jania, Joe Young, Harry Syred, Anna Heppenstall, Jordyn Macartney, Nakiwe Mpinga, Jessica Taylor, Lazima Subba, Patrick Malone, Amie James, Amiee Hatchard, Jennifer Malone and Reece Shearman, just to name a few.
Very well done and good luck to all our students in their future endeavours.
