On Wednesday morning the students were up nice and early (5am) to get to London to Visit one of the most prestigious Hotels in the world. The Ritz.
We were met by Natalia and shown every aspect of the Hotel from the amazing kitchen through to the Queens banqueting room overlooking Hyde Park and the famous art deco bar selling Brandy for £500 per shot.
The second (sous) chef spent time showing the students how the kitchen operates and the differing aspects of their brand new 21st century designed kitchen.
We spent time with the head Concierge who told us of his work at the hotel within the past 36 years and the people who have visited.
The students left feeling inspired and in awe of such an amazing Hotel.
We then whisked our way across London to the Excel Centre and Hotelympia, the largest Catering and Hospitality show in the United Kingdom. The students watched exhibition work and live demonstrations from the country’s best chefs.
We arrived back at the academy at 8pm slightly tired but sooooo enlightened!
