Coachbright Graduation 2018
Over the last 7 weeks, 42 students across Years 10 and 12 have been participating in the first ever Coachbright leadership programme. This involved Year 12 students acting as academic mentors to an allocated Year 10 student in either English, Maths or Science. Prior to the sessions Year 12 students participated in a 2 day training event in which they developed their effective listening, motivational techniques as well as gaining additional skills to enable to become effective leaders. The programme involved students meeting for one hour a week with a targeted focus on key areas identified by the students. The programme ended with a fantastic graduation at Oxford University on May 25th, in which students had a tour of Merton College, participated in the tango society as well as gaining feedback from both Year 10 and Year 12 students about their experience on the programme which has been overwhelmingly positive. Students in Year 12 are now waiting to hear about what level of leadership qualification they have received- good luck and well done to all those students who have been part of this incredibly successful initiative.
