The Wellington Academy students go from strength to strength with yet another record breaking year!
Yet again, every single year 13 student has the destination of their choice lined up and 98% of students who applied to university are looking forward to commencing courses in September (including those who have achieved places at prestigious Russell Group Universities). In fact, 69% of students have successfully gained places in Higher Education, which beats last years rate of 66%. Yet again, this is a record number of Wellington students who are off to university!
An incredible 83% of BTEC grades are Distinction* - Distinction and this tremendous achievement is considerably above the national average. 89% of BTEC grades were at Distinction* - Merit, again; an exceptionally high number. These results are a considerable increase on previous record breaking years. There were some exceptional performances from our A level students, with 98% of students achieving grades A* - E.
Particular congratulations to the following students. These pupils have done particularly well, especially when compared to target grades:
Tom W - A*, A*, B
Will A - B, B ,B

Beth E is to study adult nursing at Bournemouth, whilst Dan H will be studying Psychology at Southampton.
We would like to extend congratulations to students who will be starting their apprenticeshops soon. Sam A gained a prestigious Sunseekers place, Josh B will be studying at Chewton Glen (training to be a commis chef) and Josh P has an appenticeship at Lloyds Bank. Good Luck to you all!
Six of our students were successful in their Momentum (now known as 'The Talent Tap') work experience placements at top international organisations, and now head off to university with an even clearer focus on where they want their degrees to take them. We also have several students off to China to complete a 6 month internship in one of our partner schools.
Congratulatuons to all of our A Level students. We couldn't be prouder of you and wish you well with your future career paths.
