A New Year and a New Building

On Wednesday 4th September, we welcomed over 1000 students into The Wellington Academy, we also had a pleasure of opening our brand new building - the C Block.

The C Block boasts 9 general use classrooms (most of which are Humanities classes), an IT hub, an Art room, 3 Science classrooms, 4 small group work rooms and a large, colourful atrium with its own coffee shop where our Year 7's and 8's can purchase fresh snacks, pasta pots and baguettes and enjoy their lunch away from the hustle and bustle of the main building. The C Block serves as not only a fantastic expansion to an already thriving school but to provide an easier transition into secondary school life for our Year 7's. The younger years have their own hub and tutor space within the new building but can also integrate at break and lunch with the older years and make full use of the schools wonderful facilities in their lessons. A full working theatre, rehearsal spaces, private music rooms and fully equipped catering facilities are just some of the things on offer at Wellington Academy. The older year groups have been eagerly waiting to see the C Block and were not disappointed on their first day back after the summer holidays, Years 8 - 11 have been making great use of the new space within the school and are enjoying their lessons, the teachers who are based there just need to get some student work displayed and the C Block will complete.
