Media Studies

Media Studies at Wellington Academy introduces students to the wider world of media and how it influences daily life. Students will develop their analytical skills and understanding of media texts and production; whilst also developing their ability to debate how and why texts are created, how society influences the production of media texts, and how media has altered over time to adapt to the ever-changing audience and development of technology. Texts studied come from a range of medium: print adverts; film marketing and online profiles; television – crime drama or sitcom; music videos and online and participatory media; newspapers and magazines.
