Year 5 Experience Day

Year 5 Experience Day – 9^th July 2024

The Wellington Academy has arranged a Taster Day for Year 5 on Tuesday 9^th July. We understand that making your choice of which secondary school you would like to apply for is a huge decision.  With the deadline for all secondary school applications being nationally set as 31^st October; that will be with us quicker than we think. 

The day will consist of a number of lessons and meet some of our fantastic teachers. The lessons delivered will be using the learning cycle that we have developed to ensure students understand how to make progress and enable them to be a part of their own learning.

On the day:

Year 5 will be admitted at 9:30 via the main reception. For continuity Primary school staff will accompany the students and report back to their school as to which pupils have attended.

Students will take part in some lessons and have an opportunity to have lunch with us.  We will be providing them a hot lunch at no charge. Picking up and dropping off.

Please do not block the bus area immediately at front of school.  You will be asked to move the car.  We are fortunate to have ample drop off and pick up space by the sports centre.

Clarendon, Eagles, Lions, Castle and Zouch schools have already made a booking for students and should be messaging you soon.
