Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)

The MFL curriculum at TWA aims to build confident communicators in all our learners. The goal of our curriculum is not only spontaneity and fluency in French and Spanish for those learners who may go on to study, travel or work abroad: we also strive to equip all students with the transferable skills needed to succeed in the wider world and to engage tactfully with different cultures and people. Students learn to not be afraid of making mistakes, as learning from those mistakes is a fundamental part of language acquisition. We aim to build resilient problem-solvers who are able to not only answer questions but demonstrate inquisitive minds too. We sensitively discuss challenging topics such as health and well being, family and relationships and personal interests, further embedding PSHE values.
