Religious Studies Curriculum

We equip our young people with an understanding of the religious traditions and worldviews represented locally, preparing them to encounter the diversity of beliefs and values present nationally and globally.

Pupils will engage with challenging questions and topics about the meaning of life and learn how to express their own beliefs, values, and ideas. We provide opportunities for discussion and debate, developing learners who have the confidence to express their own views and show respect for the views of others. Through the AQA GCSE course, pupils can examine Christianity and Islam in greater depth and explore ethical themes such as crime and punishment. The course allows pupils to build upon their knowledge, understanding and skills that are essential for life in contemporary Britain.

Parents have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of Religious Education.  If a parent wishes to exercise this right or would like further information, they should contact the Headteacher via the school office.
